  5. With latitude and longitude input, LAT_LON will calculate distances
  6. between cities. It is of value to genealogists who with this program
  7. can pinpoint their ancestral town by its proximity to nearby cities.

  9. Over the years many political boundaries in Europe and the USSR have
  10. changed several times. For this reason it may be impossible for the
  11. family researcher to locate an ancestor's town on current maps. The
  12. gazetteer "Where Once We Walked" which lists variant names, also lists
  13. the location of each town by latitude and longitude. Thus a town can
